Watch and learn
Rise
I really liked the different sorts of camera angles used in the movie opening rise. The one that really caught my attention was the over the shoulder shot in which you can tell that one actor is looking at the other actor. In doing so, it makes it feel as if a confrontation were about to occur. The music added into the background also added more quality to the content.
Offline
This introduction was interesting and is similar to the more modern horror movies that deal with online stalking. The music added to the entirety of the opening made the opening suspenseful and dramatic. The dark lighting in the introduction also helped highlight the phone screen and the fact that something bad was about to occur.
Dear Lover
By the creators using a voice over, it lets the reader know what is going on in the head of one of what appears to be the main character. By doing this we also get an introduction as to what the movie is going to be about. The establishing shots of the introduction also clearly showed that one of the main characters ran away from home as it is outside near a creek
Dare to Thrill
This is by far the best movie introduction compared to the other previously watched. the wide variety of camera angles constantly changing made it exciting for the viewer to watch. The upbeat music went perfectly with the theme of the introductions and the liveliness of the group of teenagers. However at the end once the music stops abruptly and they open the trunk of the car the whole mood of the movie changes and the viewers are left wondering as to what happened next.
Always Watching
by using different editing techniques such as cut, the viewer is clearly able to see that Kane is mentally disturbed by him trying to explain that everything is fine during a session with his therapist and then the flashing back to when he was around the guy that he wanted to literally trade lives with. One scene that was also impactful was the one where they were standing in front of the mirror and the flashing back and fourth between the characters made the audience feel uneasy and also shows him replacing his image symbolically.
The Blue Boar
The use of close up shots of the characters faces helps the viewer clearly see the emotions being expressed by the characters, in doing so it helps the viewer get to know the characters more. The music being sung in the introductions shows that the girl just wants to be free and also sets up the rest of the movie.
White Coats
This movie opening is also one of my favorites, because it is so well done. The eerie music added to the background as well as the noise being made by the equipment and chemicals makes the viewer feel uneasy as to what is going to happen. The special attention to details and props used throughout the opening film made it look that much better.
Stalker
I personally was not a big fan of this movie opening, because of the poor sound effects put in place. The sound effects added into the opening were cartoonish and did not seem natural. They sounded like they were just thrown on there for the heck of it. The opening was very simplistic. I will give them credit for the shot, where she was looking in the mirror and then zoomed into her face, it showed the she was startled by the nosies made from the camera clicking.
Nostalgia
This also happens to be another one of my favorite movie openings of the ones I have seen. The going back and forth between the older woman and the paintings from small towns shows that it was the place where she was born in. The old artifacts that belong to the older woman shows the reminiscing aspect of the woman's thoughts. The somber classical music also adds emotion into the introduction
Lost and Found
I thought that it was pretty cool how the music from the intro was dimmed down as the boy took his headphones out to symbolize the music that he was listening to while sketching. I also thought that it neat how they used a voice over to show the thoughts going on in the mind of the characters and narrate the movie.
